April Love
Live a life of misery
tomorrow has no end
Find a way to help yourself
forget you have a friend
Talk about your loneliness
you know I understand
Loneliness is real to me
I need a helping hand
Once I had an April love
but May she went away
Before the summer sun had come
I saw my brightest day
Spring is full of happiness
and that she brought to me
I thought I had my future made
how blind a fool can be
I turned my head and she was gone
before the summer breeze
The death of love I had for her
remains in silent freeze
Still I play the game of love
and wonder what it's for
For once I had an April love
but May she came no more

Magic
There's a magic in the air
everywhere when you're near
There's a magic on the ground
Since I've found someone
to share my world
and be my girl and my friend
A special one I can love
and not pretend
There's a magic in your smile
such a style drives me wild
There's a magic in your heart
When you start to do
the things you do
for only you could be
The special one
who can do those things to me
There's a magic in your way
things you say every day
There's a magic all around
Since I've found someone
to share my life
and be my wife and my friend
A special someone to love me
till the end

The One
Are you gonna hold me
are you gonna care
Are you gonna want me to
run my fingers through your hair
Are you gonna love me
are you gonna always
feel the same
Are you gonna be the one
to drive this boy insane
Why you wanna tease me
why you wanna play
Why you wanna tell me
that I might have a
chance someday
Why you wanna hold me
why you wanna treat me
just the same
(when you call my name)
Why you wanna be the one
to drive this boy insane
Say you wanna tell me
say you wanna say
Say you wanna let me
show my feelings any way
Say you’re gonna love me
say you’re gonna be there
through the pain
Say you’re gonna be the one
to drive this boy insane
Are you gonna be the one to
drive this boy in
Why you wanna be the one to
drive this boy in
Say you’re gonna be the one to
drive this boy insane

I Never Could Tell You
I remember meeting you
several years ago
When I was down and almost out
but little did I know
You had that special something
that's often hard to find
The beauty grace and laughter
went running through my mind
I'm sure everyone noticed
the way you made me feel
To me you're more than a fantasy
but something short of real
I wanted so much to know you
if only as a friend
But instead insecurity
brought my dreams to an end
But girl I never could tell you
no I never could say
Seems every time the words
formed in my heart
my head got in the way
But every time that I saw
you I'd catch your eyes
and you'd smile
Now you're going away
and woman I pray
it's just for a while
And as you start a new life
please remember this
The one you leave behind you
is always gonna miss
The things you said
and things you did
it's hard to bid adieu
But go in peace and
know my thoughts
will always be with you
But girl I never could tell you
no I never could say
Seems every time the words
formed in my heart
my head got in the way
But every time that I saw you
I'd catch your eyes
and you'd smile
Now you're going away
and woman I pray
it's just for a while
Everyone must choose the path
their heart tells them is right
And sometimes it's so hard
when you decide
But time will tell if things you've done
will get you through the night
Just know that someone's
always by your side
I never could tell you
no I never could say
Seems every time the words
formed in my heart
my head got in the way
But every time that I saw you
I'd catch your eyes
and you'd smile
Now you're going away
and woman I pray
it's just for a while

Lover's Fool
Took a walk one summer day
hoping love would come my way
Knew I had to find it soon
been without since late last June
And then I saw what seemed to be
the goddess of reality
And she was looking back at me
with a smile
Took a second look to see
if my eyes were fooling me
But her beauty still was there
sunshine sparkled in her hair
Walked up to her and took her hand
in silence we could understand
Our meeting here was surely planned
up above
We walked together
in the summer air
We walked and talked
and neither with a single care
Took her home to be my friend
knowing love would never end
Told myself to play it cool
but I became a lover's fool
Deep in love with her I fell
from that moment I could tell
My life without her would be hell
here on earth
There was nothing I could say
when she finally went away
Nothing to do
but to find someone new
Lover's fool
you know I was a lover's fool
Don't wanna be a lover's fool
in love again

For Joann (You're A Lady)
Just a girl of seventeen
Like a girl I've never seen
Known you for a year or so
But how much do I know
Guess you've seen me through it all
Many times you've seen me fall
But you've always eased the pain
And I thank you once again
You're a lady such a lady
And lady you're a friend of mine
Now the time has come to say
But my words can't find the way
When I want to speak my mind
Seems we run out of time
You're a lady one fine lady
And lady you're a friend of mine
You're a lady such a lady
And lady

Memphis Mary
Walking down on Beale Street
I wandered into a club
I was looking for a good time
I wasn’t looking for love
At a distant table
a vision before my eyes
Looking good and she knew it
teasing all the guys
Sitting there with Terry
the girl gave us the eye
I said she wants you darlin’
not looking for a guy
I bet that girl a twenty
to get her up out on the floor
And hold her tight and dance for me
another bill for even more
Oh Memphis Mary
damn you look good to me
I bet your love is oh so sweet
but not sweet enough for me
That hair of golden curls
hanging in her soft sweet eyes
And that top was clinging
had me mesmerized
And those jeans so tightly
holding tender skin
Looked like it was wanting out
while I was wanting in
Oh Memphis Mary
damn you look hot to me
I bet your love is steaming
but bet it’s not for me
The girl was pushing forty
looked all of seventeen
And the way her body moved
damn you know what I mean
I’m never gonna see her
I’ll never see her again
I don’t know where
she’s going to but I sure know
where’s she’s been
Oh Memphis Mary
damn you look fine to me
I bet your love is tasty
but bet your love ain’t free
Cause Memphis Mary
your love’s no good for me

She's My Oasis
And when I call I say hello
I say I'm fine
but I want you to know
You know sometimes
I've had enough
When simple things
make life tough
And I wonder through
the desert of life alone
But take comfort
in the sweet voice on the phone
And when I stop and see you now
I get to know
you're with me some how
You know some days I can't go on
When everything today is wrong
And I'm lost here in
the desert of life again
But remember my special friend
And she's my oasis yeah she is
She's there when I
call out her name oh yeah
She knows all my places
yeah she does
I swear refreshing as rain oh yeah
And the way we are today is fine
But she'll never be mine
And I lay down in
the desert of life tonight
Cause the vision in my mind
will make it alright
And she's my oasis yeah she is
She's there like a fresh
breath of air oh yeah
She's seen all my faces
yeah she has
I swear I know
that she cares oh yeah
But the way we are today is fine
And she'll never be mine
She's my oasis yeah she is
She'll never be mine
She's my oasis yeah yeah yeah
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

Addicted To You
A woman once said
boy don't lose your head
Balance is the key to your life
You've got to set boundaries
in all things you do
To avoid the sharp edge of the knife
Too much of anything's
not good for you
You need a dose of variety
And if you don't listen to what I say
You'll end up with a dependency
Some people need caffeine
some people need dope
Some people need sex or porn
to think they can cope
But I learned from someone
that the worst I could do
Is to need gotta have
be addicted to you
She said an addiction
can be many things
But you're alone while you're
taking your trip
You take in it all and
proceed to withdraw
To avoid a real relationship
And I said now shrink
I don't really think
I'm hearing everything that you say
'Cause if I wanted to I'd prove to you
I can stop it any time any way
Some people need coffee
some people need smoke
Some people need alcohol
to think they can cope
But I learned from someone
that the worst I could do
Is to need gotta have
be addicted to you
But I learned from someone
that the worst I could do
Is to need gotta have
be addicted to you

Sandy
Sandy a lady of the world
Sandy you're not a little girl
Every time I have the time
I talk to you and only you
Oh Sandy Sandy
you're where I need to be
Sandy a friend to the free
Sandy
I know you're a friend to me
When I find I cannot find
the words to say I hide away
But Sandy Sandy
you're there to comfort me
And there will be times
when I will long for you
A song or two will cheer
as if you were here
And though you may say
that you will never go
How can I know for sure
that you're
gonna be true to me
Sandy with nature in your eyes
Sandy our love needs no disguise
Don't you know I want to know
just how you feel and if it's real
'Cos Sandy Sandy
you're all the world to me

Friends Like You
I can still remember
the day you came along
You listened to my troubles
you listened to my song
You’re so good to talk to
I love to see you smile
I want you for my friend
for a long long while
Cause friends like you are hard to find
they seldom come along
You let me in I feel that I belong
I’m glad that you’re around me
I hope that you will stay
And that you’ll find your
someone someday
The times we spend together
are times that mean a lot
You’ve always given comfort
sometimes that’s all I’ve got
Your kindness is so welcome
the moments that we spend
Always stay the way you are
always be my friend
Cause friends like you are hard to find
they seldom come along
You let me in I feel that I belong
I’m glad that you’re around me
I hope that you will stay
And that you’ll find your
someone someday

For Lauren (God's Gift Of Love)
There is nothing in this world
more precious
That can happen to a man
and his wife
Than the happiness and joy
of a little girl or boy
A baby the very core of life
As the days go by
in splendid wonder
And the child grows slowly
day-by-day
All the love in the world for this
little boy or girl
Is given to guide them on their way
But sometimes a child can
steal your heart
And your soul
like an angel from above
With her fam'ly and friends
the journey now begins
For Lauren this child
God's gift of love
When a child is healthy
and playful
What a wondrous feeling
in your heart
Who can understand
when all your dreams and plans
Are changed and
God's healing now must start
And this time a child has
stolen hearts
And our souls
she's an angel from above
With her fam'ly and friends,
the journey now begins
For Lauren this child
God's gift of love
And when she’s old and gray
she'll look back on this day
For Lauren this child
God's gift of love

Living With ADD
Sometimes my head is burnin'
Feel the world is turnin'
going 'round and 'round
I get so tired waitin'
It feels so frustratin'
that it gets me down
I find it hard to focus
With all the hocus-pocus
of my life's routine
Explains the way I've acted
When I get distracted
over every little thing
Living with ADD
please have patience with me
The things I do that bother you
are hard for me to see
My actions aren't intentional
I work it out in therapy
And though I get bored
I still ask the Lord
to one day let me be free
Sometimes when I go shoppin'
I find it hard in stoppin'
my impulsiveness
I feel I'm on the border
Of this mind disorder
things are such a mess
Living with ADD
please have patience with me
The things I do that bother you
are hard for me to see
My actions aren't intentional
I work it out in therapy
And though I get bored
I still ask the Lord
to one day let me be free
Living with ADD
please have patience with me
The things I do that bother you
are hard for me to see
My actions aren't intentional
I work it out in therapy
And though I get bored
I still ask the Lord
to one day let me be free

Play The Game
Every time I try I can't win
'Cause I don't know the rules
Every time I lose makes me see
That we're both being fools
Every time I say a word
You don't understand
I believe that you've
never even heard
Or you cannot comprehend
Everywhere I go people say
That you're treating me unkind
Everywhere I know it's unfair
But it's always on my mind
Even when I try to speak
You just turn away
I believe that it's best for me
So what else can I say
Now has come the time I must say
That it's over and through
I don't want to see you again
'Cause I'm so over you
Every time you play the game
Someone has to lose
I believe I'm better off
To end it when I choose
